FS308 puts four independent two-way mechanisms on one 121 × 80 mm acrylic plate. It is the specification that keeps an apartment entry or a multi-zone living area to a single switch position instead of a line of single plates.
Four gangs is common in apartment entries — hall, living, kitchen and balcony — and in commercial fit-outs where a zone has four lighting groups. The plate is the same size as a one-gang, so the electrical layout does not have to change to accommodate it.
FS308 ships as 4 gang 2 way, so each gang can be a single-location switch or part of a two-location circuit. That matters in apartments where the entry and the far end of a corridor both need control of the same lights.
The acrylic face is available in white, black, champagne and green, with custom RAL matching for projects. On a four-gang plate the face is the largest single surface in the switch group, which is why colour consistency across the whole schedule matters more here than on a one-gang.

All 4 gang models share the same 121 × 80 mm acrylic plate, the same screw-terminal mechanism and the same SAA approval under AS/NZS 3112. Other gang counts in the FS series run from one to six; see the full FS series for the rest of the range.
Four gangs on one plate is an apartment and fit-out specification. FS308 keeps four lighting circuits at a single entry position — hall, living, kitchen and balcony is the classic combination — on the same 121 × 80 mm plate used across the FS range.
The variant list is short by design: FS308 at 10A and FS307 at 16A. Four gangs already means a considered schedule, and in practice the 10A version covers almost every lighting circuit. Where a heavier load is involved, the 16A model is a drop-in replacement with the same plate and footprint.
The constraint to plan for is the box, not the plate. Four switched actives plus a feed, earth and any strappers is a lot of copper behind a 121 × 80 mm face, and a deeper wall box is usually specified. Get that decision right before first fix and the plate itself is the easy part.

A four-gang plate is the right answer when all four circuits arrive at the same point and the wall has one natural switch position. Two separate two-gang plates are better when the circuits split across a doorway or when part of the group belongs to a different room.
The visual argument usually settles it. Two plates mean two cut-outs, two edges to align and a seam in the finish; on a painted wall that seam is visible even when the plates are level. One four-gang plate reads as a single object and is easier to keep straight.
The practical argument is the box. Four gangs in one box needs more depth and more cable room than two gangs, and if the wall is brick or the box is shallow, splitting into two plates can be the simpler install. Compare the three gang plate and the six gang plate before deciding — the format is the same across all of them.
Apartment work in Australia is usually specified by the builder or the electrical contractor rather than the occupant, and that pushes the choice toward ranges with reliable stock and a familiar plate format. Clipsal and HPM dominate the residential market; Connected Switchgear, Zetr and Voltex appear regularly in multi-residential and commercial schedules.
For a developer the deciding factors are less romantic than brand: can the range deliver one to six gangs in the same footprint, is the colour consistent across batches, and can the supplier hold stock for a staged handover. A brand that only covers part of the schedule creates mixed plates on the same wall, which is the thing buyers notice at handover.
IGOTO supplies four-gang plates to distributors and private-label brands from our own factory in Yueqing, with SAA approval under AS/NZS 3112 and colour matching held across production runs. If your schedule runs from one to six gangs, the plate size stays 121 × 80 mm throughout.
As the manufacturer, we assemble and test four-gang plates per gang on the finished plate. With four mechanisms on one carrier, the failure mode that matters is a gang that binds after the face is fitted — which is exactly what end-of-line testing catches and batch sampling does not.
FS308 and FS307 run in white, black, champagne and green, with custom RAL matching and laser marking available. Project orders are packed by colour and by gang count so a staged handover does not end up with the wrong plates on site.
Ordering a 4 gang Australian switch is straightforward — the checklist below mirrors what our sales team will confirm with you anyway.
Custom panel colours, laser marking and retail packaging built on the standard 4 gang platform, across PC, acrylic and aluminium series, with SAA documents covering the certified range.
Factory-direct pricing with flexible MOQ and scheduled delivery for Australian distributors stocking 4 gang switches and the wider FS, AS, CS and RS series.
Dedicated account management, Australian technical datasheets and priority production for partners building a 4 gang switch range in PC, acrylic or aluminium.
OEM/ODM, wholesale pricing and distributor support — one enquiry gets you a factory-direct quotation for the 4 gang FS plate, with SAA certification under AS/NZS 3112. Price is quoted per order rather than listed, so tell us the model (FS308), the mechanism and the quantity before you buy; replacement stock ships in bulk cartons or retail-ready boxes, and the standard mechanism is a rocker.
Contact Our Sales TeamApartment entries are the most common — hall, living, kitchen and balcony lights at the door. They also appear in open-plan houses with four lighting zones, in hotel suites and in commercial fit-outs where one position controls four groups. Anywhere the circuits converge, a four-gang plate is cleaner than two plates.
The plate does — it is the same 121 × 80 mm format as a one-gang. The box is the constraint: four mechanisms plus feed, earth and strappers need depth and cable room, so a deeper box is usually specified. Confirm the box model with the electrician before first fix rather than discovering it at fit-off.
10A per gang at AC250V for FS308, or 16A per gang for FS307. The gangs are independent, so the limit applies per circuit rather than to the plate as a whole. The total connected load still has to sit within the circuit protection, which is the electrician’s calculation, not the plate’s.
Yes — white, black, champagne and green are stock, and custom RAL matching is available through the OEM programme with a sample approved before production. On a four-gang plate the face is large, so colour consistency across the batch matters more than on a smaller plate.
