Five mechanisms in a vertical stack on the 80 × 121 mm face. It is the narrowest way to get five lighting circuits to one position without a second plate.
Large open-plan living, a commercial tenancy with five zones, a function room. The count is a schedule decision, and the vertical face only matters when the wall cannot give 121 mm.
Five rockers cover about 105 mm of plate height. Set at 1000 mm to centre, the bottom rocker sits near 950 mm — clear of a bench, but close to a knee space under a desk return.
The switch inside is the FS310 mechanism. Only the face changes, so the electrical design, the certification and the spare parts are shared with the horizontal five gang.

Both models share the face, the box and the mounting. The horizontal five gang plate is on the FS series page.
Five gang plates are specified against a lighting schedule, and schedules rarely care how wide the wall is. The vertical version exists because the wall does.
FS310-V holds five two way gangs in a 121 mm tall strip. In a commercial fit-out that is often the only way to keep a five-zone control point beside the entry door instead of on the corridor side of it.

Five is a stopping point. Six is the maximum in the FS range, so five leaves one position spare in the box without leaving a blank on the face — which is why schedules land here.
On the vertical face the difference between five and six is 15 mm of rocker pitch, not plate size. Both are 121 mm tall, so the decision is about whether the sixth circuit exists, not about space.
Five two way gangs is the point where box depth stops being a detail. Five switched actives, a feed, an earth and up to five strapper pairs will not fit comfortably in a shallow box, and the cable bend radius at the back of a narrow plate is tighter than on a horizontal one.
Specify the box with the cable count, not the gang count, and keep cable entry at the back. Side entry on an 80 mm plate uses clearance the plate does not have.
FS310-V is built alongside the horizontal five gang plate and tested gang by gang after the face is fitted. There is no shortcut at this gang count — a single binding rocker means the plate comes back.
Project orders are packed colour-sorted so a staged handover does not mix plates between floors.
Five gang orders come from schedules, so the work is in confirming the schedule rather than the product.
Custom faces and laser marking on the five gang vertical plate, with colour matched across a floor plate.
Factory pricing on schedule quantities, packed by floor or by apartment so installation follows the program.
Support on box sizing and cable count, plus datasheets for both plate faces for the project file.
Send the schedule quantities, the rating per circuit and the colour, and we quote the vertical five gang plate factory-direct with SAA documentation under AS/NZS 3112. Schedule orders are packed and priced per stage.
Contact Our Sales TeamYes, as FS309-V. It uses the same vertical face and the same box; only the mechanism rating changes. Mixed 10A and 16A gangs on one plate are possible within the mechanism range and are confirmed on the quotation.
80 mm of clear width and 121 mm of height. The width is the reason to choose it; if the wall gives 121 mm, the horizontal five gang plate is the more conventional choice and sits lower on the wall.
Yes. Laser marking on the mechanism and printed labelling are available through the OEM programme, which is common on five gang plates because the circuits are not self-evident to the user.
