A bedside panel is the least forgiving wall in a house. It is narrow, it is often joinery rather than plaster, and it has to carry an outlet, a light switch and now a charger.
FS313-V-USB puts the outlet and two USB ports on the vertical face so the whole assembly fits the panel beside the bed. One plate, one cut-out, no adapter on the floor.
In residential work the panel is typically 100–150 mm wide between the bed and the wardrobe. In hotels it is a purpose-made headboard unit with a fixed cut-out, which is where the vertical face is usually specified first.
The other constant is height: the plate has to sit above the mattress and below the side table top, a band of roughly 150 mm. A 121 mm tall plate fits that band; a horizontal plate plus a separate switch usually does not.
Two ports sharing 2A means one device charging alone gets the full 2A and two devices split it. That is fine overnight for phones; it is slow for a tablet and it will not charge a laptop.

The USB insert is tested as a module before it goes into the plate, then the finished plate is function tested. A failed charging port is not something a distributor can fix in the field, so the test happens here.
