FS316-15A is the 15A version of the switched double point: two outlets and a switch on the same 121 × 80 mm acrylic plate, rated for appliances that draw more than a standard 10A circuit should carry.
The 15A outlet is the one behind a split-system air conditioner, a clothes dryer, a storage hot water unit or a workshop machine. These are the appliances where the plug itself is physically wider — a 15A plug will not fit a 10A outlet, which is the simplest way to tell them apart.
The extra switch gives a visible isolation point at the wall, which matters for fixed appliances that are serviced in place. It also means the circuit can be isolated without pulling the plug from behind the unit.
The plate is the standard 121 × 80 mm FS format and fits the standard Australian wall box. What changes is the circuit: a 15A outlet is normally on a dedicated circuit, which is an electrical design decision rather than a plate decision.

All models share the same 121 × 80 mm acrylic plate, the same screw-terminal connections and the same SAA approval under AS/NZS 3112. The FS series runs from one to six gangs; see the full FS series for the rest of the range.
The 15A outlet is the one appliance point that cannot be substituted. A 15A plug is physically wider than a 10A plug, so the circuit and the plate have to be specified together — FS316-15A is the switched double point built for that requirement.
It is the same 121 × 80 mm acrylic plate as the rest of the FS range, with two outlets and a switch. The difference is the rating: one 15A outlet for the appliance, one 10A outlet alongside it, and a switch that isolates without unplugging.
Where it goes is predictable: split-system air conditioners, clothes dryers, storage hot water, workshop machines. In most of those installations the 15A outlet sits on a dedicated circuit, which is why the electrical design comes before the plate order.

Look at the plug, then at the appliance label. A 15A plug has a wider earth pin and will not enter a 10A outlet; the label states the current draw. If the appliance is rated above 10A, the outlet must be 15A and the circuit must be designed for it.
The plate is not the constraint — The 10A and 15A plates share the same footprint and the same cut-out. What changes is the circuit protection, the cable size and whether the outlet is dedicated. Those are electrician decisions, and they should be settled before the accessory is ordered.
Do not use a 15A plate to “future-proof” a general-purpose position. The outlet will accept a 10A plug, but the circuit behind it may not be rated for a 15A appliance later, which turns a spare outlet into a false promise.
15A outlets are a small part of the category but a critical one, and the brands that supply them in Australia are the same project ranges — Clipsal, HPM, Connected Switchgear, Zetr and Voltex — plus imported ranges through wholesalers.
The specification questions are sharper at 15A. The outlet has to carry the load continuously, the terminals have to take heavier cable, and the switch has to be rated for the appliance rather than for a lamp. Ask for the AS/NZS 3112 approval against the exact 15A model number.
IGOTO manufactures FS316-15A in Yueqing with SAA approval under AS/NZS 3112, supplying distributors and private-label brands. The plate is the same FS acrylic face used across the range.
15A plates are assembled and tested with the heavier outlet module, then checked for terminal torque and switch isolation before packing. The test is per plate, on the finished product.
FS316-15A runs in white, black, champagne and green with custom RAL matching. Because volumes are lower than the 10A models, project orders are usually scheduled rather than shipped from stock.
Ordering the FS316-15A is straightforward — the checklist below mirrors what our sales team will confirm with you anyway.
Custom panel colours, laser marking and retail packaging built on the standard 2 gang platform, across PC, acrylic and aluminium series, with SAA documents covering the certified range.
Factory-direct pricing with flexible MOQ and scheduled delivery for Australian distributors stocking the FS series and the wider AS, CS and RS ranges.
Dedicated account management, Australian technical datasheets and priority production for partners building an FS range in PC, acrylic or aluminium.
OEM/ODM, wholesale pricing and distributor support — one enquiry gets you a factory-direct quotation for the FS316-15A, with SAA certification under AS/NZS 3112. Price is quoted per order rather than listed, so tell us the model, the configuration and the quantity before you buy; replacement stock ships in bulk cartons or retail-ready boxes.
Contact Our Sales TeamAir conditioners, clothes dryers, storage hot water units and heavier workshop machines are the common ones. The test is the appliance label and the plug: a 15A plug has a wider earth pin and will not fit a 10A outlet.
Physically yes — a 10A plug fits a 15A outlet. Electrically it is safe for the appliance, but it does not make the circuit suitable for a 15A load later. The outlet rating and the circuit rating are separate things.
In most installations yes, because the appliance draws more than a general-purpose circuit is designed for. That is an electrical design decision for the electrician; the plate itself does not determine it.
The rating. No. The standard switched plate carries two 10A outlets; this one pairs a 15A outlet with a 10A outlet for heavier appliances. Same plate, same cut-out, different module — the model number on the carton is the reliable difference.
